National Vin Report ("we," "us," "our") provides VIN decoding and vehicle history reports. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
To generate reports, we query third-party data sources including the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS), the NHTSA vPIC API for VIN decoding, and licensed commercial vehicle history providers. These providers receive the VIN you submit but not your personal identity unless required to complete your purchase.
We use Microsoft Clarity for anonymized session analytics and Tawk.to for live chat support. Both may set cookies in your browser. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features (like live chat) may not work as a result.
Purchased reports and account data are retained for as long as your account is active, so you can re-access reports without repurchasing. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7).
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with: payment processors (Stripe) to complete transactions, vehicle data providers (to generate the report you requested), and service providers who help us operate the site (analytics, chat support, hosting).
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting privacy@nationalvinreport.com. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA or GDPR.
National Vin Report is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
